Changes and Happenings – April 2016

Much going on at Ed Teer Golf!

Teaching Facility:

I’m no longer affiliated with Williamsburg National.  I had many great years there, and I wish them all the best! I’m currently seeking a new home and will let you know ASAP.  I’m looking forward to getting to work with juniors, small groups of adults and small groups of competitive juniors.

William and Mary Women’s Golf Team:

We have just completed our season at the CAA Championships.  We finished third to cap off a rewarding and record-breaking year!  Details in an upcoming post.  Our #1 player, Alex Liu, had a tremendous year with four tournament victories and is currently ranked #3 in NCAA Division I Golf.  We are anticipating a bid to the Regional Tournament, which is the stepping stone to the NCAA National Championships.  We will here about Alex’s fate Monday, April 25th at 6:00 pm via conference call.  Alex has also accepted an exemption into the 2016 LPGA Kingsmill Championship Monday Qualifier.  Two spots for the tournament field will be available.

It has been an exceptional year and I’m very grateful to work with such amazing student-athletes.

A Positive Mind:

I’ve become a partner with A Positive Mind.  APM has a technique to help everyone form a habit of positivity. Emotions anchor thought in the brain.  Negative emotions inhibit decision making and skill execution causing undesirable performance.  Using intense positive emotions created by our Word Sequencing Technique you can rewire your brain to stay positive and therefore, improve performance.  You will hear much more about APM in the coming weeks!

Commitment:

I’m sorry that I haven’t provided much information over the last few months.  W&M coaching has taken more time than I anticipated. I’m sure I will find an appropriate mix and still be available to provide local coaching! I enjoy my time working with golfers who seek to improve their performance and I’m committed to making time available to continue coaching adults and juniors!   I’m currently catching up on many emails and calls in addition to finding a new teaching home.
